Gobiodon citrinus
The Citron Clown Goby, *Gobiodon citrinus*, is a small, vibrant yellow goby that adds a splash of color to any reef aquarium. Its bright, uniform yellow body and small size make it a charming addition to nano tanks or larger reef systems.
A minimum of a 10 gallon tank is suitable for a single Citron Clown Goby, with larger tanks recommended for pairs or groups. They appreciate plenty of live rock with small crevices and overhangs to perch and hide in. Unlike many gobies, they do not typically sift sand. While generally peaceful, they can be territorial towards other gobies, especially those of the same species. They are considered reef safe and will not harm corals or invertebrates.
It is difficult to distinguish between male and female Citron Clown Gobies. They are substrate spawners and may breed in the aquarium, laying eggs in a protected location. The Citron Clown Goby is a carnivore and its diet should consist of a variety of meaty foods such as enriched brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and other small frozen or live foods. They may also accept high-quality marine flake and pellet foods. In the aquarium, they typically reach a size of around 1.5 to 2 inches.
