Extreme Snow Onyx Clownfish

The Extreme Snow Onyx Ocellaris Clownfish, *Amphiprion ocellaris*, is a captivating designer clownfish variety prized for its striking white and black pattern. Unlike the typical Ocellaris Clownfish with orange and white bands, the Extreme Snow Onyx exhibits a predominantly white body with irregular, bold black markings that can vary greatly from fish to fish, making each individual unique.

A minimum aquarium size of 20 gallons is recommended for a single Extreme Snow Onyx Clownfish or a pair. Provide plenty of live rock for hiding places and potential hosting sites. While they can host anemones like the Bubble Tip Anemone (*Entacmaea quadricolor*), they do not require one to thrive in a home aquarium. They are generally peaceful and can be kept with other peaceful reef-safe fish.

In the aquarium, the Extreme Snow Onyx Ocellaris Clownfish will readily accept a varied diet of high-quality marine flake food, pellet food, frozen mysis shrimp, and enriched brine shrimp. Feeding small amounts multiple times a day is beneficial.

Like all clownfish, the Extreme Snow Onyx Ocellaris is a protandrous hermaphrodite, meaning all are born male and the largest fish in a group will transition to female. Breeding in a home aquarium is possible with a compatible pair and proper conditions. They typically reach a size of approximately 3 inches in the aquarium.
