Description

The Fine Spotted Fairy Wrasse, *Cirrhilabrus punctatus*, is a vibrant and active addition to the reef aquarium. This species is characterized by its beautiful coloration, which typically includes shades of red, orange, and purple, adorned with numerous fine blue or purple spots that cover its body and fins. The intensity and pattern of these spots can vary between individuals and with their mood.

A minimum tank size of 50 gallons is recommended for the Fine Spotted Fairy Wrasse, providing ample swimming space and areas for hiding among live rock. They are generally peaceful and can be kept with a variety of other non-aggressive marine fish. While they are reef-safe and will not harm corals or invertebrates, they are known to be jumpers, so a secure lid is essential.

In the aquarium, the Fine Spotted Fairy Wrasse will readily accept a varied diet of high-quality marine flake food, pellet food, frozen mysis shrimp, and enriched brine shrimp. Offering a diverse diet will help maintain their vibrant colors and overall health. They are native to the Indo-Pacific region and are considered to have an intermediate level of care, requiring stable water parameters and a well-established aquarium.
