Description

The Herald’s Angelfish, *Centropyge heraldi*, is a vibrant and eye-catching dwarf angelfish native to the Indo-Pacific region. Its striking, uniform bright yellow coloration makes it a standout addition to any reef or fish-only aquarium.

A minimum tank size of 75 gallons is recommended for the Herald’s Angelfish. While generally considered an intermediate-level fish, they are relatively hardy once acclimated to a stable aquarium environment. They are known to be more peaceful than some other dwarf angelfish species, but like all angelfish, there is a potential for them to nip at stony and soft corals, especially if not well-fed. Providing plenty of live rock with hiding places is essential for their well-being.

In the aquarium, the Herald’s Angelfish will accept a varied diet of high-quality marine flake food, pellet food, frozen mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, and spirulina-based foods. Offering a diverse diet will help maintain their vibrant coloration and overall health. They typically reach a maximum size of around 4 inches. While breeding in a home aquarium is not common, they are protogynous hermaphrodites, meaning they are born female and can change to male later in life.
