Description

The Lemonpeel Angelfish, *Centropyge flavissima*, is a vibrant and popular dwarf angelfish known for its striking, uniform bright yellow coloration. A distinctive blue ring encircles the eye, and the tips of the dorsal and anal fins are often edged in blue.

A minimum tank size of 50 gallons is recommended to provide ample swimming space and plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding. While generally considered one of the more reef-safe dwarf angelfish, the Lemonpeel Angelfish can occasionally nip at stony and soft corals (sessile invertebrates) and clam mantles, especially if not well-fed.

Like other dwarf angelfish, the Lemonpeel Angelfish is hermaphroditic, with no readily apparent visual differences between males and females. Breeding in a home aquarium is very difficult. Their diet should consist of a variety of foods including Spirulina, marine algae, high-quality angelfish preparations, and mysis or frozen shrimp. In a home aquarium, they typically reach a size of around 4-5 inches.
