Description

The Multicolor Angelfish, *Centropyge multicolor*, is a vibrant and eye-catching dwarf angelfish native to the Indo-Pacific region. Its striking coloration features a bright yellow body with a bold blue stripe running along the dorsal fin and a splash of purple on the face and pectoral fins, making it a standout addition to any reef or fish-only aquarium.

A minimum tank size of 75 gallons is recommended for the Multicolor Angelfish, providing ample space for swimming and grazing. They are considered to have an intermediate care level, requiring stable water parameters and a varied diet. While generally peaceful, they can be territorial towards other angelfish, especially those of similar size or coloration. They are best kept as the sole angelfish in the aquarium or introduced simultaneously with other dwarf angelfish in a sufficiently large tank.

In the aquarium, the Multicolor Angelfish will readily accept a varied diet of high-quality marine flake food, pellet food, frozen mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, and spirulina. Offering a diverse diet is crucial for their health and vibrant coloration. They are known to occasionally nip at stony corals and clam mantles, so caution should be exercised when introducing them to a reef aquarium. They typically reach a maximum size of around 3.5 inches in captivity.
