Description

The Picasso Percula Clownfish, *Amphiprion percula*, is a captivating and highly sought-after variant of the popular Percula Clownfish. Its striking pattern features irregular white markings that extend across the body and fins, creating a unique and artistic appearance reminiscent of a Picasso painting. These markings vary greatly from fish to fish, making each individual a one-of-a-kind addition to a marine aquarium.

A minimum tank size of 20 gallons is recommended for a single Picasso Percula Clownfish, with larger tanks preferred for pairs or groups. They are generally peaceful and can be kept with a variety of other non-aggressive marine fish. While they are famously known for their symbiotic relationship with anemones, they can thrive in an aquarium without one, often hosting in corals or even tank equipment.

In the aquarium, the Picasso Percula Clownfish will readily accept a varied diet of high-quality marine flake food, pellet food, frozen mysis shrimp, and enriched brine shrimp. Offering a diverse diet will help maintain their vibrant colors and overall health. They typically reach a maximum size of around 3 inches in captivity. Like other clownfish, they are protandrous hermaphrodites, meaning they are born male and can change to female later in life. Breeding in a home aquarium is possible with a compatible pair and proper conditions.
