Description

The Platinum Ocellaris Clownfish, *Amphiprion ocellaris*, is a stunning and highly sought-after captive-bred color morph of the popular Ocellaris Clownfish. Unlike its wild-type orange counterpart, the Platinum Ocellaris exhibits a striking, almost entirely white body with subtle hints of orange or yellow around the fins and face. This unique coloration makes it a captivating addition to any marine aquarium.

A minimum tank size of 20 gallons is recommended for a single Platinum Ocellaris, with larger tanks preferred for pairs or groups. Provide plenty of live rock for hiding places and potential host anemones, although they will readily host in artificial alternatives or even certain corals. They are generally peaceful and can be kept with a variety of other non-aggressive marine fish.

The Platinum Ocellaris Clownfish is an omnivore and will readily accept a varied diet of high-quality marine flake food, pellets, frozen mysis shrimp, and enriched brine shrimp. Feeding small amounts multiple times a day is beneficial.

Like all clownfish, the Platinum Ocellaris is a protandrous hermaphrodite, meaning all are born male and the largest individual in a group will transition to female. They are relatively easy to breed in captivity, making them a popular choice for hobbyists interested in aquaculture. In a home aquarium, they typically reach a size of 3-4 inches.
